According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, it is possible to implement general community quarantine (GCQ) nationwide by August considering that all Filipinos will cooperate in observing safe quarantine measures to stop the spread of COVID-19. He expressed the government’s hope that the whole country will be under GCQ before the classes start on August 24.

Amid apprehension from parents, learners, and teachers, Roque assured that the government will not compromise the health and safety of the students. The Presidential Spokesperson, nevertheless, ensured that the government would come up with necessary measures, should the task force decide not to impose GCQ in the entire country by August.
