Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio has announced that the city has adopted the May 15 version of the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of the Community Quarantine in the Philippines as it observes the implementation of general community quarantine until May 31, 2020.
Following the traffic build up caused by the difficulty of truck inspection on the third fay of the general community quarantine in the city, the City Mayor also implemented truck ban in the city. Duterte-Carpio also called the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board XI for requiring special permits from public utility jeepney drivers to travel during the general community quarantine as additional layer of bureaucracy. She said the LTFRB XI does not have to require the drivers to get special permits since these jeepneys already have their respective franchises and their specific routes.
